Special to the Metro

ATLANTA, GA - Dentons US LLP, formerly McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP, promoted Petrina Hall McDaniel to Partner in its Atlanta Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department.  Petrina, along with 20 new partners resident in 12 Dentons offices throughout the US, joined the partnership effective January 1, 2016.  Dentons is the world’s largest law firm in more than 125 locations serving 50-plus countries.

Petrina began her career with the firm out of law school, and is one of the few “home grown” minority attorneys to be elevated to partner in the firm’s history.  Petrina’s career spans over a decade, during which time she has represented the spectrum of the business ecosystem, from Fortune 500 companies to entrepreneurial start-ups.  “My objectives are the same for each case I handle – understand the goals of my client, advocate for my client relentlessly, and know the facts of the case inside out,” said Petrina.

As a commercial litigator, Petrina represents diverse private and public companies and governmental entities in varied commercial transactions, including consumer class actions, breach of contracts actions, business torts, trade secrets, and governmental disputes, with a particular emphasis on privacy litigation. She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) and is deeply knowledgeable about consumer privacy and data security. Petrina has litigated claims involving the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, and other state and federal privacy statutes, resulting in significant settlements and judgments on behalf of her clients. Petrina drafts privacy policies and notices, and provides strategic compliance counseling related to the TCPA and other consumer privacy laws and behavioral advertising. In addition, she represents business interests in both negotiations and litigation with state and local governments on a wide range of issues, including contract disputes and investigations, and has practiced before the Georgia Office of State Administrative Hearings.

Atlanta Magazinehas consistently recognized Petrina as a “Super Lawyer Rising Star” in General Litigation from 2012-2016.

We congratulate Petrina on reaching this significant milestone in her career.   Petrina is the wife of James Bruce McDaniel, II of Atlanta; sister of Dr. Angelita Hall-Parks of Atlanta; and daughter of Walter M. (Celia) Hall, III of Albany.
